It’s a bit of tradition for me to put a music related picture in the back of my drill binder that I use in marching band. So here’s the one I drew for this year. In the center I have Harmony (a character from a story I’m writing), who’s a professional singer, and to the sides of her we have a violin and keyboard which are representative of her two childhood friends Will and Sol. Then I just did a rainbow of colors around her. I also totally messed up those violin strings (sorry). It’s simple and bold, and not too in depth, but that’s what I was going for.
I recently got a Deviantart account. My name on it is Kaystarlit if you want to find me. One of the groups I was part of was doing a contest, and this is my entry for it. I entitled it Fireflies. It was inspired by one of my favorite summer memories where me, Lori, Mom, and Ben went firefly viewing and talking. It was really fun, and I think it shows pretty well what summer means to me. Family, fun, and lights. Luckily, it does not show the last thing summer means to me which are heat waves that make you feel like you’re about to die during marching band.
I know this isn’t the highest qualiy drawing I have, but I’m still getting used to drawing electronically. I found one convience of electronic drawing is storing doodles. Anywyay, ths picture was me imagining how much fun Kimi and Harmony would have together. Kimi really admires Harmony, whch is one of the reasons they’re so similar despite a twenty year age difference. Harmony is a plant mage, and Kimi a wind mage, so they’d be outdoors a lot.
Dreams are strange things. You can end up walking on air, flying to school, or breathing underwater, and even if you know this is impossible somehow you can’t convince your dreams of this. Weirder yet is when characters from various media invades them, or when your family friend turns into your cousin. Then you act like a jerk during your dream-and then you realize it’s totally in character. That’s scary. Usually the dreams I remember are just weird-like fighting spies then turning out to be adopted-or swimming an lake just to play ping-pong with my marching band (I’m a terrible swimmer, though I’m not to bad at ping-pong, and I’m not even sure how much my band at large likes ping-pong) but when it’s weird, but in character…now that’s just freaky. It also probably it means it’s in my character to be weird. Not like I didn’t already know that.
