Well… I've made it this far…

Well… I've made it this far…

Sorry about not posting yesterday. I didn’t get enough sleep and with band camp and all I didn’t find the energy or time to post. So I’ll do two post today, as well as some other things.
By the way, our show is going extremely well this year. We’ve already set all of movement two and are starting to get music set to it. I’d like to take a few moments to thank my band for their hard work and supporting me, even if I’m not the strongest member of the band.
Okay, now for today’s tips:
Instead of using nails, using pins (like the tip for sewing) to hang light things on the wall (they won’t carry heavy things) These are easier to get in, and the marks don’t show up when you take them out. This is very handy for hanging hand drawn pictures on the wall.

This next one is going to be a craft. The jewelry box (I know, that was pretty typical for a teenage girl-I may be weird, but I’m still am one). Anyway, my jewelry box is double layered, and works pretty well. All it really is is a box with cardboard cut and secured with duck-tape to make compartments, and then to make the shelf above I just took some cardboard cut into the shape of the box did the compartments on that. A few tips for the jewelry box: Use felt to line the compartments. It looks nicer, and it’s better for the jewelry. If you want a area for rings take felt and fold it up, and you can store the rings between the folds.14393790879351765189175
Alright, I’m in a weird mood today, so I’m going to post a few pictures of artwork I’ve done and never scanned in or anything. These will not be appearing in the gallery, there exclusive to this post:IMG_20150603_164609

Sorry for this being sideways. This is a picture of Harmony, whose usually scarily cheerful actually looking upset for a change.
And this is going to be a uber-post because I’m also doing a game review for Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright, which I finished recently. It was an interesting story, and I really enjoyed the game play, I thought that the mixture of puzzles and crime solving was well done. I also thought hint coins were handled well. But that ending was weird, and you had to accept at least three or four impossible things and explanations that made no sense. I think that if they had changed the conclusion for what was going on it would have been a better story.
Still, it was a fun game and I’d totally recommend it.

Starting Band Camp Week…

Starting Band Camp Week…

I’m starting band camp week. Somewhere inside me I’m screaming about what is going to take place these next five days…. of corse some of that scream is terror and some is excitment. Let’s just hope I don’t blow up in someone’s face.
So to keep my mind of that, I’ll just do today’s tip… you can make pendents simply by attaching a jump ring on a charm. Then you can make a lot of these and use one interchangeable chain for all of them:IMG_20150805_063819
This means you can have a lot of necklaces without a lot of effort.

Back From Navuoo-And Catch Up

Back From Navuoo-And Catch Up

I just went to Navuoo, and, oh, my! It was such an amazing trip! Very spiritual, very fun, and very educational. I feel both totally renewed and totally drained. Renewed spiritually, drained physically, a bit crazy from the eight hour car trip back.
But I owe you guys three days worth of craft and tips:
Tip one: When writing a comic get a ruler to be a straight edge for making panels.
Tip two: Don’t eat like two bags of chips on a eight hour car trip. It will be very hard on your stomach. (My brother found out the hard way)
Tip 3: Laminate a piece of paper and surround it with duck tape. It makes a relatively nice dry erase bored:IMG_20150805_063503

How to Make A Box

How to Make A Box

I’ll tell you a secret: I’m writing this on the fifth and publishing it on the sixth (Or I was supposed to). I’m going to a camp and won’t have time to write a post beforehand. I won’t be able to publish anything on the seventh probably, so I’ll be doing two post on the eight.
So here’s this:
If you want a simple rectangular box without a lid you can cut off the bottom of a cereal box and use that. I suggest you cover it with paper. Mine’s peeling so I’ll have to re-glue it.IMG_20150731_071849

Second Day of Challenge

Second Day of Challenge

Okay, here’s today’s craft! As long as you can do a basic sewing stitch you can do this (You could probably glue it as well, but I haven’t tried) I literally just sewed a cover on a old cookie sheet. I use it as a by the bedside table for the loft. For most places it’s not too useful, but hey, you never know who’ll it’ll inspire. Anyway, here’s some pics of it:IMG_20150803_122049IMG_20150803_122037IMG_20150731_072055

August Challenge

August Challenge

So… have you ever seen those thirty day challenges? The ones that have you do something every day for thirty day. Well, I came up with one for myself for the month of August. I’m going to write a life tip or craft every day this month. Since today is the second (I was way too worn out from marching band to think straight yesterday)…anyway because of that I’ll do two today. There will be a few days I’ll be camping and cut off from technology this month. During that time I’ll post an extra make-up one.
Anyway…life tip from yesterday: Try to square off some time for what matters most to you, then leave some time so that you can do what else you want. Either that or try to find a schedule that moves fluently. If your brain works differently, then fine-one size almost never fits all-but from what I’ve seen if you don’t plan anything, you never get anything done, but if you plan everything you get stressed by the schedule.
Then for today, here’s a craft:IMG_20150802_134459IMG_20150731_071758
This is something I discovered by somewhat accident, and it’s really easy to do! I literally stuck a three toilet paper rolls (covered by paper-it makes them look nicer) into a tin can that some pineapples came in (Low tin can, now tall like tomato sauce usually is, but slightly more saucer shaped). It works as a desk organizer. One that’s easily divided into sections! It’s really convenient 🙂 Plus, it’s cheap, since it’s mostly made out of things usually considered trash!
